Built by consultants. For the organisations they serve.
BSS is a specialist AI governance consultancy. We built AIMS because we kept seeing the same problem — organisations adopting AI with no governance structure, no accountability, and nothing to show when the regulator asked.
The existing tools were built for data science teams. Nobody had built anything for the organisation itself. So we did.
BSS was founded on a simple observation: organisations across healthcare, policing, and the public sector were adopting AI tools with no structured way to govern them. The platforms on the market were designed for enterprise data science teams monitoring machine learning models — not for a care provider, a police force, or a local authority deciding whether to adopt a vendor's AI product.
We built AIMS — the AI Management Solution — to fill that gap. A governance platform designed for the organisation, with structured assessments, multi-discipline review, accountable stakeholder decisions, and a complete audit trail. We use it ourselves to deliver every advisory engagement.
Our consulting experience across regulated industries shaped the framework. The five-pillar assessment, the 77 governance questions, the six review disciplines — all of it comes from real engagements with real organisations facing real governance challenges.

Senior expertise. Flexible delivery. No bench costs.
BSS maintains a framework of trusted, vetted partners across AI advisory, data protection, information security, legal, and change management. When your engagement needs specialist expertise, we bring in the right person — senior, experienced, and already familiar with the AIMS platform and our governance framework.
You get the depth of a large consultancy without the fixed overhead. Every person on a BSS engagement is there because they're needed, not because they're on payroll. This is how we keep costs proportionate — particularly for smaller organisations that need senior-level governance but can't justify enterprise consultancy fees.
The principles behind every engagement.
Humans govern AI
Every decision has a named person. Every review has mandatory evidence. No auto-approval — ever. Technology supports governance. It doesn't replace it.
Honest assessment
We'll tell you if you're not ready. We'd rather lose an engagement than let an organisation adopt AI governance theatre instead of real governance.
Proportionate cost
A 12-person care provider and a police force both need AI governance. They don't need the same price tag. Our partner model keeps costs aligned to what your organisation actually needs.
